Yes, we are accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA), The Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa, TETA, and SAQA and are registered with the Department of Employment and Labour. We will notify you of any changes to our accreditations.

Yes, we do! We provide on-site First Aid training for groups of eight or more. We can accommodate groups of six or more for our CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) courses.

If there are more than ten employees, the employer must appoint one First Aider for every 50 employees in factories or one for every 100 employees in shops or offices. Consider shifts, sick leave, and annual leave when appointing First Aiders.

1. • First Aid Level 1, 2, and 3 certificates are valid for three years.
   • Basic Life Support (BLS) certificates are valid for two years.

1. • First Aid Levels 1, 2, and 3:
     • These courses range from 16 to 20 hours and are valid for three years.
     • They carry 5 to 6 credits, each representing ten notional hours, including classroom time, self-study, and practical application.
   • Unit Standard Training:
     • Unit Standards are the fundamental components of a qualification.
     • A qualification includes a set of Unit Standards.
     • HWSETA must accredit training providers to offer these courses.
     • Once learners complete the training, their qualifications are submitted to the National Learners’ Records Database (NLRD) for independent verification.
     • Unlike First Aid courses, Unit Standards do not have an expiry date. However, practical skills like CPR can deteriorate over time, which is not addressed by SAQA guidelines.
     • Credits for First Aid Unit Standards also range between 5 and 6, equating to 10 hours of training. This includes classroom sessions, portfolio work, and on-the-job assessments.
     • The NQF (National Qualifications Framework) levels for entry to these qualifications vary:
       • NQF Level 1: Equivalent to Grade 9
       • NQF Level 2: Equivalent to Grade 10
       • NQF Level 3: Equivalent to Grade 11
       • NQF Level 4: Equivalent to Grade 12
     • This means individuals below NQF Level 1 (ABET levels 1-4) are not eligible to earn a qualification/certificate in First Aid.
